Captivating solo vocals, thick soul groove like Chris Stapleton’s ‘Tennessee Whiskey’ groove, alluring violin, distorted electric guitar; a ballad that swings, a full band package of smooth, confident and cunning goodness - a woman’s homage to her silk, black lace dress and red roses as prized objects that soothe the hurt of having lost in love. A song that at first seems to be pointed toward seducing men’s attention, but a closer look at the lyrics reveals it's actually a song about coming to terms with pain. It’s a song about self-soothing during grief, knowing how to get up, dust off and find one’s dignity again. But the intention was to include something pleasant for all listeners whether they could connect with the grief or not.
